Cats for instance, are naturally carnivorous and they need a diet that is high in protein. Dogs on the other hand, tend to be scavenging types of eaters, and can in fact eat a large variety of things. The dry foods we feed them, are highly processed, and consist primarily of corn and soy meal. These foods also contain artificial colorings and flavorings, and any meat that does appear in them is usually by-products, or scraps, and not the more nutritious parts.
